A Zoo in the Forest

*

There's a whole zoo
in the rainforest

Besides the creatures
that we are accustomed to seeing:

the koalas
carpet snakes
brown snakes
frill neck lizards
lace monitors
whip birds
kookaburras
rampant turkeys
and a host of twittering birds

I have also noticed

leopards

and crocodiles

zebras

elephants

more leopards

and more scaly crocodiles

hairy monsters

and even an underwater world

The rainforest park
has come alive-
It is wild
with life...

  1. Roaming the rainforest park could be dangerous...leaving you with more than an broken ankle...At first glance, I thought you slipped a real elephant in among your photos!
You were hobbling, then waddling, what now...any change?
In reply to your question, I just snipped that part of the plant off and placed it faaarrr away! :)
    Take care,
    Wanda

  2. Delwyn: What an intriguing set of photographs - and, of course, your writing takes our minds down whole new grooves! Trunks of trees are beautiful, yet often overlooked because of the showiness of their foliage.

Every day I am amazed at the beauty on display, the creativity, the talent evident on these blogs - yours in particular. Such a treat to come here. How exotic to live in or near a rainforest. What a wonder-full place, this planet that is our home.

  5. Hi Wanda

FAAAAAAAAAR away as possible I imagine...

I think that elephant is pretty convincing too...

I am ripping off the boot occasionally and walking very tentatively around the house. Out of the house I am rolling along in the boot as fast as one can...
Only 9 days to go...the count down, hasn't it gone quickly?

    Happy days

  17. Hi there Jen

I am thinking that in the future when I have grandchildren I will create a book at one of those online sites using the duck stories and posts such as this one...suitable for little ones...

What an honour bestowed upon me...

Please tell Simone that I would love to be her friend...

here is a poem for her,

There are holes in the sky
    where the rain comes in
    they are ever so small
    that's why rain is thin...
