Who came tapping
at my window...
a beautiful vine
with a bright red flower
Unfortunately not,
but I have an idea
follow me Maude...
there are so many doors
let's try around here...
they aren't answering today Maude
we'll try again another day...
~
Come dance all around the world
was a catchy song in the 70s
sung by a New Zealand group called Blerta.
This clip has rather silly antics but the music is still good...

Good morning Delwyn...
ReplyDeletethat's a very catchy and cheerful tune which I've never heard!
actually you help me dance around the world Delwyn...coming here makes me feel part of a bigger scene!
Thank you for your influence in my world!
Wanda
Wow that's awesome! I live in the city but there are two huge rivers not too far away and I can hear the ducks flying at night sometimes! I have never seen them though! I wonder if they are planning on nesting on your porch?!
ReplyDeleteDelwyn:
ReplyDeleteWhat an inquisitive duck - very curious about you and how you live. Sometimes a visit from a sweet creature seems like a sign suggesting a good day to follow. Hope yours is/was.
The flower is beautiful.
Cheers!
I love that your duck visitor's partner was called Maude. Was the other one Harold?
ReplyDeletehi delwyn, in the spring we get ducks living in our pool. the various suitors and their prospective mates make the most of our splendid facility! i wonder what your ducks saw that they were interested in on the other side of the glass? have a lovely day! steven
ReplyDeleteHello there Wanda
ReplyDeletethat song is still circling in my head too...
It's a mutual pleasure Wanda...and a good analogy...we are dancing around the world...through story and imagery...
Enjoy your Tuesday. I have just watched Slum dog Millionaire and am off to bed...
Happy days
Hi Tulsa
ReplyDeleteFor over 20 years we had no ducks on this river then a pair came and now we have an entire community. However these two have taken residency on my decks and keep the others at bay...
Happy days
Hi Bonnie
ReplyDeleteIt was a good omen today, seeing the ducks on the deck when I returned from physio, I rushed as fast as my moonboot would allow, to get the camera and as I was going to the door to get onto the verandah I met another window tapper, whom I will bring to you tomorrow...
Happy days
Hello Lynne
ReplyDeleteI have only named Maude so far...these two have featured in a couple of previous posts...I know that Maude goes with Harold like Romeo goes with Juliet but please remind me why...
Happy days
Hi Steven
ReplyDeletethey both have never come this side of the pool before but both were very inquisitive trying to get in through the glass...funny...that they should feel more confident...all of a sudden...I don't know what the attraction was...
I hope that when the weather warms we can keep them out of the water...having no dog around they have a free reign now...
have a happy Tuesday...
Happy days
Hello Delwyn,
ReplyDeleteWhat interesting visitors you have knocking at your door. I enjoy reading about the continuing adventures of Maude.
The music video was just the thing I needed to start the day. A very catchy tune - I'll be humming it when I take the cat to the vet this morning. And it's always a pleasure to see others who dance as I do. (Hahaha!)
:0)
Hugs,
Angela
Hi Angela
ReplyDeleteIt's nice to see you again
That song was very popular in NZ in the 70s and when I went to write the post it got stuck in my mind...
I don't know what the video makers hoped to achieve, unfortunately it was the only one with the song.
Good luck with the cat. Does he like to dance?
Happy days
Great pictures...love the duck!
ReplyDeleteSunny :)
Hi
ReplyDeleteHow beautiful the Flaming Beauty Bower is! What color! I like its red which is so elegant!
I don't see aquatic birds all around. Chidori are not here. They live on the seashore. It would be pleasurable to have a pair of water birds like them.
What I can see in here are sparrows, doves, bulbuls, and irritating crows. There are so many crows!
I listend to "Come Dance~”on Youtube.
It was the first time for me to listen but I like the happy tune very much! Thank you for sharing all these!!
Aww, what a sweet little visitor. We have ducks down at the river, but they never come up to the house. What fun!
ReplyDeleteI like the song and the Cheeky duck!
ReplyDeleteBeautiful post!
Oh, I love the red flowers. You could almost make this post into a children's book. I love the rhythm of the words. Blessings!
ReplyDeleteDelwyn, I read that the recent quake moved NZ 30 cm closer to Australia than before. Will New Zealand be soon tap tapping at your door?
ReplyDeleteI've seen many birds come tap on my window, but never - not EVER - a duck. How sweet.
ReplyDeleteMade the spinach pie over the weekend. It was simple and absolutely delicious!
'There are always flowers for those that want to see them'. I've been reading your side bar as I read the post. Love that poem by Doris Warshay too.
ReplyDeleteThe Clerodendrum is just delightful.
Hello Alaine
ReplyDeleteThere are always flowers In Aus no matter the season.
That quote comes from a book I read in the 70s - an old classic by Wayne Dyer called Your Erroneous Zones. He quoted Doris Warshay, and that quote and his book were seminal in my growth...
Happy days
Hi Reya
ReplyDeleteI am so glad someone tried the pie and reported back...that's great to hear...
The ducks have just come for their visit today...getting more adventurous each time...and also leaving me their visiting cards!!
Happy days
Hello Meri
ReplyDeleteI think the NZers in the bottom of the Sth Island that did the twist would like to hope so...they might feel warmer...
Happy days
Hello Marion
ReplyDeleteyes when I get to the grandparent stage - not yet imminent...I will collate all the posts suitable for children and create a book or two...
The rhythm of the words was borrowed
from the song. They had been dormant in my head for years...
Happy days
Hello there Gary
ReplyDeletethe song makes you want to dance - even if you can only swan around like the characters in the clip...
Happy days
Hi Willow
ReplyDeletethey are cute and entertaining now but I wonder when they leave lots of visiting cards whether I will think they are so much fun...and we can't have them swimming in the pool in summer either...
Happy days
Hi Sapphire
ReplyDeleteI am reading the Geisha book by Liza Dalby and learned that the chidori is emblem of Pontocho geisha - but I think I told you this already...sorry if I have...
We have lots of crows too, so many they have become problems in school yards and parks where they frequent the garbage bins and scavenge for left overs.
I'm glad you liked the NZ band and cheerful song...
Happy days
Hello Sunny
ReplyDeleteand welcome to Noosa. It is nice to meet you and I hope that we can share more stories together. I will come avisiting later...
Happy days
Harold and Maude come to tea...it's lovely to have these visitors...as long as they don't leave their "calling card" all over your deck!! lol!!! :)
ReplyDeleteYour wilderness is enchanting!
ReplyDeleteHi Delwyn,
ReplyDeleteWhen I first arrived on your blog today, I thought I read a post about a lizard - very pretty, looking in your door. However, now I can't find it. Was I hallucinating? Hope Harold and Maude return for a visit later...very cute.
PS I love your meditation on the river in a previous post and also the photos.
Hello Aly Beth
ReplyDeleteand welcome to my little corner of the world.
I will drop by your place later for a coffee...
Happy days
Barb
ReplyDeleteThanks for the visit Barb and the encouraging comments...
Harold and Maude are frequent visitors so will reappear in blogland I am sure...
Tis still there- no changes- please try again...
Happy days
Hello there Sherry Lee
ReplyDeleteYes, that is happening. I don't mind so much if they keep to the front deck and I can hose it off but they are getting inquisitive and coming up onto the verandah...
I suppose it's the price I pay for the entertainment...
Happy days
