Creativity

*

I was talking
with my friend,
recently,
about creativity
and how we express
ourselves in the world
through our creative endeavours
and our individuality

Many moons ago
I bought this beautiful compendium
containing excerpts of the Tao,
illustrated with Chinese artwork,
for contemplation

today,
as per my usual practice,
I selected a card at random

and was surprised,
(but should not have been,
because the world loves
synchronism)
to pull the Creativity Card
from the pack

The wisdom of the Tao
reminds us
that creation is infinite
and endlessly various.

Each moment is new,
everything is unique,
complete
and interconnected

The Tao encourages us
to enjoy and appreciate
the energy of creation
and to share with others...

Oh Happy Days

  3. hi delwyn, the card set looks gorgeous! creativity!! i believe that we are surrounded by and blessed with an abundance of creativity. the challenge is how to make ourselves available to it, to let it flow unimpeded through our self.
you know those moments - when it seems like you can do no wrong - everything you touch is magically transformed. i see it in your writing and in your pictures!!! have a lovely creative day delwyn!! steven

  5. Oh, the dragonfly!---my totem, my tattoos. LOL! You KNOW I loved this post, Delwyn. I want the set, too, now. Look out Amazon.com! I have about a dozen translations of the Tao and love them all.

One is even in rhyme. I found in online. (Pun intended). Blessings!!!

  7. Synchronicities are everyday miracles, to my mind. I feel that interconnectness anytime I notice how things synch up.

The box and cards look beautiful! Looks like the perfect divination tool for you, too.

Hope your foot is on the mend!

  9. This morning, across the wide Pacific, I awoke contemplating how the only time that ever was/is/ever will be...is the present moment NOW. That thought is so much like your card:

    Each moment is new,
    everything is unique,
    complete
    and interconnected.

Synchronicity is real; it's as if you pulled the card and the contemplation appeared in my mind.

  13. Good morning Wanda

Thank you so much for those words.

If I can add a little smidgen to the days of one or two people then my work is done...rewarding...and I have gained doubly, firstly from the creative enjoyment and then from sharing...

  14. Hello Reya

I imagine that you would be very aware of these patterns in the work you do.

The boxed set is very mellow and gentle - I love the colours, the form and presentation as well as the words.

Thanks for the foot message, the foot appreciates it - only 10 days of boot to go...and great progress now with physio too - it is looking more like normal now...

    Happy days

  16. Hello Marion

Of course I was thinking of you as I was compiling this post and smiling to myself thinking of your reaction when the card came up...

But it is interesting that the dragonfly was chosen as the image for creativity...My symbol book says it is the symbol of immortality and regeneration,(and a bit of flightiness) In China it means summer, in Native American lore, change and illusion, and activity,

AND what I didn't know it is the National emblem of JAPAN - which is known as the island of the Dragonfly... how wonderful...

I hope that you can track down a copy

The adaptation is by Priya Hemenway and
    Publisher - Chronicle Books, SF

  18. Hello Steven

    I agree with you

I think the thing is not to take our selves too seriously and too preciously hoping to find great creative enterprises but rather find the moments, capture a mood or feeling or thought - that is every bit as creative...as the big achievement...

and even better is the ability and the intent to create kind and giving moments...in our days...that takes great courage, power, and creativity...

    Happy days

  23. Hi Delwyn~ I don't see my comment from yesterday! I must have not processed it fully. My first thought was to get the Tao Box, of course! It sounds like such a spark to one's imagination. The poet Linda Gregg writes poetry by pulling out one card from a Tarot deck and using it for inspiration.

  24. Hi Margaret

I have been having a similar problem on blogs with the word verification. Blogger has slowed that process down some way and I often exit just as the word is appearing and then realise that I have lost the comment...so I am slowing DOWN...

You will find the compendium details above.

I need to do a google on Linda Gregg

    take care
    Happy days
