Little Calamities

~

These are my glasses.
Do they look a little odd to you?
Hmmm
This is how they look
after someone's car ran over them.
Flat!

My day started with cystitis
Thank goodness I managed to get an early Dr's appointment
Mr car battery went flat
Thank goodness my husband was able to come and get me
30 minutes waiting when you have cystitis
is a very L - O - N - G time
It's raining and blustering
A cyclone is bearing down on us
Thank goodness for the weather channel
I lost my glasses
Thank goodness I have a spare pair
I know I had them on when the battery went flat
I went looking for my glasses
Thank goodness my daughter's car was here
My car needed fixing
Thank goodness for 'Jeep Assist'
and a caring helpful son

Despite today's litany of little calamities
I still have a lot to be thankful for

  1. Ah yes, some days leave you flat...I couldn't tell but it looked like the lenses were still intact...impossible...probably missing. And I also liked the blog before that. It relieved me because I was going to try and memorize the Johnny Cash version but realizing there are lots of other versions, I can relax.

  2. Sounds like a day that needs to be tucked in for the night, if you ask me.

    Smile, try again tomorrow. :D

  3. Hi B&B, one lens remains in tact ~ Ripley's believe it or not, for the day!

I really think you should aim for the Aussie version - those town names just roll off the tongue...

  4. Your day reminds me of one described in a book by Judith Viorst called "Alexander and the Terrible, Horrible, No-Good, Very Bad Day." It describes from a boy's point of view a day similar to yours--things going wrong at every turn.

Throughout the book Alexander says, "I think I'll move to Australia," his idea of an escape from such days.

At the end of the book, his mom tells him that some days are like that, even in Australia. Your post proves the point.

I hope that for you this new day is a Wonderful, Fabulous, Not-Bad, Very Good Day. Even in Australia.

  5. My glasses lenses were used last week as a chew toy for one of the kittens and now have little pock marks in them. Luckily they're around the edges. So expensive to replace! Hope the cystitis clears soon. It HURTS!

  14. Well, thank goodness that day is over.
Can you see without your glasses?
Mine are all bent out of shape, so I only wear them in private, or held up to my eyes when I absolutely have to see clearly, otherwise they look very strange with my crooked eyes.

  15. Hi VS, I can see, but not up close, I have always had very good long vision but now find that anything up close range is out of focus. My spares aren't so good so its a trip to the optometrist for me.
