  4. Hello to my friend Mona,
It was a gem, and it connects us together in a special bond even now when she is 18.

  5. Delwyn, how sweet & such a nice way to sign off. Once my little great niece said "I love my life" and it has stuck in my memory. Isn't that a wonderful thing for a child to say?

  6. Hi,
I see we have some mutual friends. Isn't it nice to drop in here and there, and find familiar names, with histories that we understand.
I'm still in awe at the wonderful opportunities we have.

  14. I just found my son's 4th grade journal.
With his permission, I shared the journal with the class of 4th and 5th graders I visit regularly. These students were amazed that I can remember the incidents mentioned in the journal. "That's the beauty of writing; it lives beyond our memories; it helps us reconnect with all the people we are."

Keep every piece of paper you can, real paper, in her handwriting. Later, you can put together scrapbooks for her sweet sixteen party, or...

Nobody will ever make her feel the love she feels from you right now. It is the standard she'll carry to evaluate all other loves. You set the bar for her; and she will not settle for anything else.

  15. Hello again Rosaria, I value your words.

This daughter, my baby, is now almost 19!!!!
But I have kept samples of all of my 4 children's works. I made the 3 older kids a 21st scrap book of their life stories.

In addition for my parents 50th wedding anniversary, quite a few years ago now, I made a Blessing Book where I asked all the members of the family and their children to contribute letters, notes, drawings, memories and appreciations for our parents, (and their grandparents.) The book has been so well thumbed by my parents that it began to fall apart - and that I think is a good indication of its value to them.
My Mum came out of the living room at one point when I first gave it to them and said, "Your Father has a tear in his eye..."
Mum calls it 'that Blessed Book' as a joke as it has the power to bring out emotions in all who read it - and she showed it to all her friends! My mother is very gentle, unassuming and selfless, and I think that she felt she could share her family's love and gratitude this way without appearing too boastful. I am so glad they have had this pleasure - far better to give them the thank-yous in person than wait for the eulogies.
