Early

*

Some days
when the gym class is in demand
it is necessary to arrive early
to secure a place...

which means that you have
a good half hour
up your sleeve

to walk around the gym surrounds
by the tennis courts

across the camellia bordered lawn

both pink

and white

meander down
to the entry gardens
of the resort

see the bauhinia leaf that belongs
in my butt post

and the one
that the very hungry caterpillar
ate
symmetrically

and mosey on through the reception

with the indoor-outdoor gardens

and gorgeous leaf patterns

and colour

and be a back in time
for class...

Oh Happy Days

  3. I love how the caterpillar ate the leaves! Must be the most delicious part! lol
I haven't seen as much nature these past few weeks as I'd like to, so I am very grateful for all this green (and pink, and white!) that you have posted!

Hope you have a great weekend!

  6. Nice little walk you took us on... The bauhinia has a very lovely unique leaf...the one the caterpillar made even more unique looks like an apple with 2 bites out of it.

  9. Hi Steven

Did you take a look at the linked story about the time I was deciding which gym to move to?

It is a very pretty resort and we are licky to be able to join the health club.

As A transplanted New Zealander I don't know a lot of Australia - I only know it will be cooler than here - I saw 2*-19* C.listed for Maitland - I am sure your wife has googles already but I came up with this link:

    http://www.huntertourism.com/WPDestination.aspx?DProductID=9017276

It looks to be an interesting rural area - small towns and lots of history... not far from Sydney

  15. Wow! Beautigul greens and blossoms.
I am so proud of you:)
Most of the flowers were once in my garden, my late mother took care of them.
Such a great memory for me:)

  16. Hi Delwyn...it's noon here so it must be midnight there in Australia...Sunrise here was at 6:07 this morning...to reply to your kind comment, we live on 20 acres of yard, field, and woods... plus there's quite a bit of woods surrounding us beyond that...I watched the movie "Australia" not long ago...your country is beautiful!

  17. Greetings, Delwyn. As always, I am breathless after reading your posts. You find such beauty and then gracefully share. Thank you. I have been reading "a hazy moon" (backwards) and although I have not commented (how many times can you hear "how beautiful!" "amazing!"), it is mostly because I find myself contentedly quiet. And that is nice. I dedicated my post "Musings in Bloom" to you today. I hope it adds to your happy day!

  18. Is the last photo a spathiphyllum? I've never noticed how much texture the tender little flowers have, but I guess I haven't lived with one for thirty years or so, so maybe I've just forgotten. But it's lovely.

  19. Is there no end to the variety and beauty of the plants where you live? You've shown us an exotic riot of colors and shapes and leaves... It's gorgeous! Will there be something different when the season changes? As for the caterpillar, I have a little theory that he folded the leaf in half, took a big bite, and opened it up to form two opposing symmetrical holes!

  20. Hello Margaret

    I have missed your company...
    How are you?

You know I think you are right- because we are sub tropical we get a full spectrum of flower and plant varieties...there is always something flowering and as I have my camera constantly with me I am much more observant and notice the day to day changes that are occurring. We also have a range of topographies - from the coast to the hinterland, from dry heath to wet heath and wallum, eucalyptus forest and rainforest and then the mangrove wetlands along my river. Plus all the exotic plantings that flourish in this climate - so never fear- I will always have something to show you...

  24. Hi Wanda

that's interesting exactly 12 hours apart...

Your place in the woods is so charming - is there a lot of maintenance?

The movie was set around Darwin - right at the top of Au in the tropics. I thought the movie was rather 'epic' in a cliched way, but enjoyed the little boy. I find Ms Kidman hard to watch...

I am happy that I can bring you little snatches of my corner of this vast land.

  26. Hi Oliag

Joining a gym does just that - you have the discipline there established and a commitment to go and also you want to get the value out of your membership...
But walking is my favourite exercise...
I'm glad you came along today..

  27. Nice post and photographs again Delwyn.

I like your "You might like these stories:" section at the end of your posts - which widget in the list do you use to set up this feature??

    ReplyDelete
  28. Hi Alden
Its nice to see you again..

I hope that you will have more time to chat in the future!!!

See my "You might like these stories:" underneath it says link within - click on that and it will take you through the process.

When Bloggers began to use this device I didn't like it because I found the links detracted from the post and didn't seem to be related.

The widget works out the links itself from your keywords in your Labels and it does seem to change sometimes so it is always fun to see what it comes up with.

Now I have many posts I am tending to refer people back to previous stories and I thought this may help. It is also fun for me to see some of my older posts again....

    Happy Days

  29. Well thank you very much Delwyn. I have installed that widget and at the moment I like it very much indeed. Even I forget some of the postings that I have made ( over 100 to date ) - Where did you see this widget? - I looked hard for it but couldn't for the life of me find it anywhere? Anyway thanks again.

  30. And by the way, I now don't have any of the big trouble it have had in the past accessing your blog, so whatever it was that you tweaked, it seems to be working.
