An Old Jetty

An old jetty


is a fine place to stop


and rest


watch the changing patterns 


of the sunlight and ripples


 on the riverbed


beside the mangroves


and enjoy the fishing antics


of a pelican pair


Blessed be solitude

    A lovely place for sitting and thinking, but I'd wear shoes and make sure my bottom and thighs were covered to avoid splinters in uncomfortable places. You do live in a lovely place!

    Hi, Delwyn! The weathered board of the pier, the constant changing patterns of the ripples, mangroves, the blue color of the sea, and the pelicans....everything is just wonderful. I feel like having a rest on the bench.
