An Old Jetty

An old jetty

is a fine place to stop

and rest

watch the changing patterns

of the sunlight and ripples

 on the riverbed

beside the mangroves

and enjoy the fishing antics

of a pelican pair

Blessed be solitude

  1. Hey old friend! Nice to see you out here on the dock. Gorgeous pictures, btw.

Pelicans are the very weirdest looking animals, aren't they?

Hope you are well. I bet you are. xx

  3. A lovely place for sitting and thinking, but I'd wear shoes and make sure my bottom and thighs were covered to avoid splinters in uncomfortable places. You do live in a lovely place!

  9. Hi, Delwyn! The weathered board of the pier, the constant changing patterns of the ripples, mangroves, the blue color of the sea, and the pelicans....everything is just wonderful. I feel like having a rest on the bench.

  13. Oh, so good to see your photos. Beautiful. By the way, my nickname is Jetty and I am old. I'm not sure whether or not I'm a fine place to visit, though... and I sure cannot compete with the beauty of these photos.
