so fresh your scent
I see the glistening

  1. I love this. I tiried writing cinquain last year. It was nice to have a structure/formula to work with as i am not used to writing poetry. Haiku sounds like fun too xJ

how erudite you are these days...

do you have the world's greatest collection of Haiku stashed away down there, you can always find an appropriate accompaniment.

thank you for your literary contribution

  6. Hello Wanda

Don't you love the smell and the sounds of the wet woods Wanda...

Today I could smell koala...it is a very distinctive strong smell...
so once alerted you know to crane your head and check the tree tops and there he was. I am seeing the same one (I think) regularly - they keep to their favourite trees and sky paths...but he is too high to tell if it is the one I saw recently or #5, a new one....

    Happy days my friend

  7. I saw a piece on Animal Planet about the loss of Koala habitat and thought of you and your part of the world. And thanks for the cinquain -- I haven't written any for a long time. Maybe it's time to give it a try.

  9. If I hang around here long enough I will have to try it. I need to save all the info so that I can remember the different writing styles.

  18. What is more eloquent than poetry? Delwyn, I loved your Cinquain. Ms. Crapsey would be proud of your homage to koalas and she would be delighted to know her adaptation of syllabic verse had found its way so resonantly back across the Pacific to Australia.

  21. Just goes to show one can convey a massive amount of information with only a few words. This is a skill I don't have. Loved the poem and the photo. Thanks.
