Worn Out
My poor Dad's body
is old and worn out
He has previously suffered strokes
and last night had a heart attack
Here he is
a boy of sixteen or so
ready to leap into life
and here
with his sister
having fun,
with their lives ahead of them...
This morning
I am told
he was sitting up and
talking when he felt like it...
Did I mention he is stubborn
and won't give in easily...
*
i can see Poppy in his face...the eyes and the smile :)
ReplyDeletesending my best wishes for a speedy recovery

My husband had a heart attack about 15 years ago, had surgery and he's still good to go. I'm praying that your father will do just fine, too. It's scary when it happens because of the unknown and the fear of loss, but it sounds like your dad is a fighter and will make it through this... and you will, too.
ReplyDeleteBest wishes to your dad. What wonderful photos you posted here! Love the one with his sister especially.
ReplyDeleteDelywn, best wishes to your dad... my father recently went through some medical troubles too. He is still incredibly stubborn, but we were able to talk some sense into about certain things. Like why it's important to go to the doctor.
ReplyDeleteI hope he makes a full recovery soon.
Fun images of your father, Delwyn. Blessings to him. xx
ReplyDeleteStubborn or tenacious - it's just in the way you look at it. Perhaps he still has some "business" to finish. Glad you were able to recently visit.
ReplyDeleteSo sorry to know of your father's health woes. My father would not give in easily either, and I thanked him often for staying around longer than his body would have liked. Your photos are lovely and capture his spirit nicely. Wishing him well.
ReplyDeleteVery poignant, beautiful portrait of your dad. All my best wishes to him, and to you.
