Sepia Saturday - Worn Out

Sepia Saturday
Worn Out

My poor Dad's body
is old and worn out
He has previously suffered strokes
and last night had a heart attack

Here he is
a boy of sixteen or so
ready to leap into life

and here
with his sister
having fun,
with their lives ahead of them...

This morning
I am told
he was sitting up and
talking when he felt like it...

Did I mention he is stubborn
and won't give in easily...

  24. My husband had a heart attack about 15 years ago, had surgery and he's still good to go. I'm praying that your father will do just fine, too. It's scary when it happens because of the unknown and the fear of loss, but it sounds like your dad is a fighter and will make it through this... and you will, too.

  26. Delywn, best wishes to your dad... my father recently went through some medical troubles too. He is still incredibly stubborn, but we were able to talk some sense into about certain things. Like why it's important to go to the doctor.

I hope he makes a full recovery soon.

  28. Stubborn or tenacious - it's just in the way you look at it. Perhaps he still has some "business" to finish. Glad you were able to recently visit.
