It's a new day, in a new month in a nearly new year.
February is my favourite month of the year.
Why? - well it used to mean the start of the school year and the end to the long school holidays with four energetic kids to keep an eye on, - and therefore some time to myself. And even tho' my kids are now grown that emotion of relief still lingers;
it means great warm weather in Noosa, the days are still long and we can paddle before dusk and watch the sun slip below Mt Cooroy on our homeward run;
it means the town is back to normal after the influx of tens of thousands of holiday makers over summer. Thank you for coming but goodbye for now...;
it has traditionally been a time for new starts - classes begin, courses start, new study commenced, projects are undertaken, those new year's resolutions are put into practice.
It is a time for new beginnings, it is a time of promise...
It's a new day in the mornin'
Anything is possible, it's all good.
For a brief shinin moment,
Everything is wonderful,
Knock on wood
knock on wood.

good morning to a new day ... ..I have lived in Noosa for a while many moons ago..and i was overwhelmed with joy when in the far distance whales where passing..Noosa has this memory for me along with a few others.
ReplyDeleteHello Mona - Aren't we lucky to have the opportunity to live in this amazing place...yes whales pass every winter on their way to and from the breeding grounds around Hervey Bay.
ReplyDeleteI got to see the Nitty Gritty Dirt Band live years ago.
ReplyDeleteMay your new beginnings be fruitful!
I love the term "new beginnings" - every day is a new beginning really - so what is on the agenda of your new beginnings for 2009 Delwyn - another trip to Hawaii?
ReplyDeleteDan: I haven't seen them perform but would love to - so much energy
ReplyDeleteAlden: How weird - looks like I'm not moving into feb after all. This post now says Jan 31 at the header, how could that have happened?!!!!
ReplyDeleteAlden : I have bugs in the blog!!!
ReplyDeleteAnyway as to new beginnings for me: To appreciate every day, every friend, every family member, every experience... with new vigour
Alden - Ok found a 'post options' where I could change it. For some reason it took the draft date with it...
ReplyDeleteI wrote a post on Mindful Heart responding to this post, here, on A New Day. My wife and I are now enrolled in a course called Awakening Joy.
ReplyDeleteYour blog nudged me from thinking about enrolling and getting to the keyboard and taking the plunge. Thank you, Delwyn.
Dan: I love the way this great communication machine encourages and inspires people all around the globe. I am glad my 'new day' musings have prompted you to take action.
