  2. While your sky is so blue ours has been so gray. In typical Melbourne fashion spring so far has been colder than winter was. LOL.

  3. Large old majestic trees hold deep meaning for me...one can't fully take in and appreciate a tree or life without raising their eyes to the sky above. A walk in the woods always makes me feel linked to something greater...
    I loved your post Delwyn.

Thank you for your last comment, it was very appreciated.

    Smiles always,

  4. Lovely photos Delwyn. Trees just resonate with something so deep within. I thought the words were yours and had a moment of disappointment to discover they were cummings' . . .

  13. Hurricane Palm reminds me of my home, Arizona. I love photographing the palms and my favorite one became a Flash 55 on my Dream Weaving blog some time ago. At any rate, these are very lovely shots.

  17. Hi Meri

I'm glad you think it a good fit...

I love the way these things play out. The poem was in my poetry collection, the skies in my photos bank and they called out to each other...across the files...across the study...and now look - happily married...

  18. Hi Janie

We all seem to feel the impact of the tree, its metaphor for life...the tree of life...the subject of art and poetry for eons past and eons to come...

  23. Hi Bonnie

I am a 'tree hugger' of the original variety...hugging them for connection and belonging and to feel life...

I will take that as a compliment ...and you know what, after reading what you said I thought I really must extend myself and write more of my own poetry...so there, you have done a good thing and inspired me...so thanks my friend

  24. Hi Wanda

I am like you..I feel my roots when in the forest...not the geographical or family ones but the philosophical or spiritual ones...the roots of humanity...
and a little awe at the wonder of life...

    a pleasure Wanda my friend

  25. Hi Liss...

great news...we had a reasonable shower over night...only the 2nd all winter...town had shrivelled up and gone crispy...I can't wait to go out and see it's fresh clean face this morning...washed of dust and grime...turned up to that glorious sky and mother sun...

  28. Hi Delwyn! I love how all the leaves are dappled in the light. My favorite--if I have to choose one--is the bougainvillea sky. They fit so well with the poem. "Life is the wonder that keeps the stars apart." xxox

  29. Hi Steven

I'm glad you approve of my coupling of photos with ee c...

Now you can imagine how I may sound as I speak to you...well with a feminine edge of course...but wait...I still have a New Zealand accent...

Your man will say seeks for the number six whereas NZers say sucks...

Hence the hackneyed old claim that NZers eat 'fush and chups...'

Your Aussie will say feesh and cheeps...

    you can check him out...

  30. Good morning Margaret

I just drove in from the gym and notice my poinciana tree on the nature strip has leaves on it whereas a week ago in that picture I posted it is bare.

It flowers around Nov 1st...my youngest daughter and I have a competition every year to see who can spot the first red poinciana flower...they are vivid ...and the tree will be stunning...another post possibly...

I knew you would love this poem Margaret of the skies...
