Jasmin

*

Jasmin

 Star
Jasmin
tumbling
down
over
rocks

Pinwheels
spinning
perfume

through
the warm air
from
tiny moon faces

I pick a cluster
and
drive home

in a cocoon
of sweet
Jasmin breath

I am climbing aboard
the flying Kangaroo
hopping over the Tasman
for a few days...

See you later
and
Happy days

  1. Oh my, oh my . . . this makes me want to cry. When I lived in Louisiana I had a trellis covered in star jasmine.

It arched over the walkway outside the kitchen, and there was a fish pond on the other side.

It was so lovely, and even though I would much rather be where I am now, I do miss lush and fragrant plants - star jasmine most of all.

I hope your trip is wonderful.

  2. Jasmine is close to my heart, it being among the first of the flowering plants to establish itself firmly in my consciousness able to do so on the strength of its perfume. Jasmine grows on three sides of my house.

May your trip be fulfilling. Tell your dad how much you love him.

  3. How beautiful! Our Autumn is cold and wet this year, so I'm looking forward to our Spring weather again - only 7 months from now!

I hope you have a lovely trip.

I wish you Hugs and Happy Days,

  4. I swear Delwyn, as I read this and looked at the pictures I could almost smell that wonderful Jasmine! We have a bush here with flowers and smell very similar called Mock Orange or Mock Jasmine but the smell is not as intoxicating as the real Jasmine. Have a great trip!

  7. Beautiful phrases! Our jasmine has closed up for now...we planted as much as we could near our bedroom windo so that the smell drifts in. I'm glad to see other jasmine thriving. :)

  9. Hi Delwyn

We used to have Winter Jasmin up the front of our cottage when we lived in Cornwall. What it lacked in fragrance, it made up for with a delightful display of yellow flower throughout the winter months.

    Love your post. Safe journey.

  13. The flowers are beautiful, I wish I could properly gauge their size from the photos.

Enjoy your trip to Tasmania. Everything about living in Australia seems so exotic.

And, considering the temperatures we're having here right now, warm.

  26. Not only is it one of my favourite flowers, but also one of my favourite names in Spanish: Jazmin or Yasmin, or Yazmin.

    Greetings from London.

  27. Love your star jasmine plant. I have a different variety of jasmine in my garden. Another type of creeper that I have is the Rangoon Creeper (Quisqualis Indica) which perfumes my garden with its delicate scent.
