The Seasons

The Seasons

Spring blossoms
have long since dropped

Summer has swelled
and ripened

The colours of Autumn
have now fluttered to the earth

the bare limbs of Winter
have quietly
become more visible
and now encircle you
in their misty embrace

To Everything There Is a Season

- Ecclesiastes 3:1-8

To everything there is a season,
a time for every purpose under the sun.
A time to be born and a time to die;
a time to plant and a time to pluck up that which is planted;
a time to kill and a time to heal ...
a time to weep and a time to laugh;
a time to mourn and a time to dance ...
a time to embrace and a time to refrain from embracing;
a time to lose and a time to seek;
a time to rend and a time to sew;
a time to keep silent and a time to speak;
a time to love and a time to hate;
a time for war and a time for peace.

To everything there is a season,
a time for every purpose under the sun.

  1. Dearest Delwyn,

    Are you telling us your father's life has completed its cycle? If so, my condolences. You approach everything with such gentle equanimity.

  3. Hello Delwyn,
    I'm so glad you were able to take your Father on the picnic when you last visited. It will be a good memory for you. I've caught up with several of your posts - I'm traveling right now. I send you positive energy and calmness to face what's ahead.

    Long time no update so I have been thinking of you a lot. I was touched by Ecclesiastes 3 and the four beautiful photos. Everything changes. Did your father pass away? My thoughts are with you.

  5. Hi, Delwyn—

    I've been thinking of you a lot, figuring there's a reason for your quietness in blogland and guessing it's your dad. I love the verse from Ecclesiastes.

  11. delwyn when my dad flew away a year and a bit ago i felt both joy and sadness. joy for a life that he brought to fruition and goodness, and sadness because i wouldn't know him in his own experiencing of life anymore but entirely through my memories. i know that he has returned to this place and continued his journey. have a peaceful day. steven

  15. My deepest sympathy to you Delwyn. I am keeping you in my thoughts and prayers as you continue on in your earthly journey, as your farther carries on in his "heavenly" journey.

    I have been away helping my own father move along this same journey.

    I'll be thinking of you...
