But it doesn't say
No Kookaburras
So I will perch here a while
and allow you to walk
up very close
and even poke
that black apparatus
right into my face
I won't flinch
or show I am at all concerned
and you can admire
my splendid blue feathers
shining in the sunlight
like iridescent paua shell

That's one very accommodating Kookaburra, Delwyn.
ReplyDeleteWe managed to get quite close to some in a wildlife park we visited last year. Nothing like seeing them in their native surroundings though.
i don't think a sign would stop that impressive fellow!
ReplyDeletedelwyn - i really appreciate that there are places that allow for us to get so close to the raw beauty and innocence of the little creatures we share this place with. what a beautiful bird! steven
ReplyDeleteThat little guy exudes confidence and aplomb. He needs no cameras, no bicycles, no roof, no refrigerator or stove. Complete unto himself.

How serendipitous that he chose that sign to plant himself! I am enjoying this close up view of him and had no idea the color was so beautifully blue on his feathers. Such a great find :)

Well I'm glad the kookaburras are allowed because they are quite handsome creatures. Seems to share traits with songbirds and birds of prey that I have seen.
