San Sebastian ~ Raphael
I said what about my eyes?
"Keep them on the road."
I said what about my passion?
"Keep it burning."
I said what about my heart?
"Tell me what you hold inside it?"
I said pain and sorrow.
He said:
"stay with it."
Rumi
Quite beautiful. I need to familiarise myself more, with Rumi.
ReplyDeleteMe too. Loved this Delwyn.
ReplyDeleteI know of this Rumi quote..."The wound is the place where the Light enters you."
ReplyDelete― Rumi
...something like Leonard Cohen's "There is a crack in everything / That's how the light gets in"
Wanda...yes...and the philosopher's stone begins to turn...
ReplyDeleteIt's as if that could have been written entirely for me! (Yes, it's the human condition, I know.)
ReplyDeleteI liked Wanda's quotations, too. Very apt.
Hi,Delwyn,
ReplyDeleteThe last quotation reminds me of Buddhist fable. Buddha teaches acceptance of death to a mother who lost her baby in the story.
I like Rumi's words. How nice! They bring me tranquil and peaceful mind.
Best wishes,
keiko
Hi
ReplyDeleteI especially like the last lines: I said pain and sorrow. He said: "stay with it."
Thank you Delwyn!!
Wow! That is beautiful.
ReplyDeleteThank you for this quote, Delwyn. I’ll keep it in mind. All the three things are equally important. Even with pain and sorrow and passionate inside, if we can’t see clear and objectively to discern things, we could miss the right path. Having said that, like others, I like the last line best. Pain and sorrow make us more human.

That is a beautiful quote. I like the last line..Stay with it....pain and sorrow. I so agree with Bee. It's the human condition.

Thank you for sharing, Delwyn.
ReplyDeleteLovely!
Best

Hi Delwyn,
ReplyDeleteThank you for sharing great quotes.
Like everyone says, last line got to me and reassured me.
Wanda's quotes explain that.
