they are very similar to the sandpiper, also known as a 'peep',who has yellow legs...I can tell you this with some surety as I have my new Hawaii's Birds book open in front of me...thank you Mr Long's Drugs....
Hi Delwyn, These photos of the Sanderlings (I love the name) strolling in the surf are wonderful - I really like the reflections on the incoming surf. Hope your days are filled with similar languid wanderings.
Oh Delwyn how sweet and beautiful!! Im boiling here,we have a heatwave and I have not left my room for days just to save some energy, so when I look at these photos i can remember vaguely how it is to be able to walk along the beach at sunset! Thank you for this! Happy days! Aleksandra
Once I had a little female schnauzer, Gisele, who loved to stalk the Sanderlings at our place on Port Aransas, Texas (Gulf Coast). She loved them so & I began calling them "Gisele birds" and still do 30 years later.
these pics bring back many memories of weekends and summers on the beach.
ReplyDeleteSo beautifully wabi-sabi Delwyn.
ReplyDeleteThey look like the Sandpipers we use to see in Florida on vacation!
