Is that a real flower?!? It's gorgeous and so much better than those Japanese burumas! lol
ReplyDeleteI had to wear those during P.E. when I first went to a Japanese school...NOT one of my best memories ;-)
The flower is a hibiscus.
ReplyDeleteYou went to school in Japan?
I wore big bloomers called rompers at high school for sports.
tightie whities. :-)
ReplyDeletelike the bottom bloom(er)s best. :-)
Julie,
ReplyDeletethat's a new one to me!
Bloomin good...
Bloomin' pretty blooms... beautiful flowers!
ReplyDeleteHee,hee. Liked it, lots. :D
ReplyDeleteCute post! Bloomers have definitely shrunk over the years, haven't they?
ReplyDeleteHilarious. I had to wear royal blue bloomers like the Japanese Burumas along with a orange v necked sleeveless top. OHHHHH simply stunning. NOT!!! lol
ReplyDeleteThe bottom bloomers are definitely not "unmentionables."
ReplyDeleteI love how you posted this. It's Great!
ReplyDeleteVery funny! I wasn't expecting the hibiscus at the end of your post:)
ReplyDeleteJust checked out your Bluey post...I'll definitely save one of those pics to show Mr. J! Hilarious!
Hoot! Now there's a surprise - hibiscus are one of my all times favs. Gorgeous blooming photos!
ReplyDeleteAnother bloomer name for you, in Afrikaans -'Broekies'
hahahaha...it just occured to me now why those puffy things we had to wear to school were called 'bloomers'.
ReplyDeleteThankyou Delwyn I now feel my education is complete and it is nice to see you have put to good use that photograph of me in my white jock strap
ReplyDeleteAlden,
ReplyDeleteThanks for giving me permission to use your jockstrap photo!
Priya,
ReplyDeleteHi there,
yes those school rompers were very voluminous!
Happy days
Tessa,
ReplyDeleteThanks for another bloomer term. broekies is the oe pronounced as 'o' or 'ear'?
Oliag,
ReplyDeletethose hibiscus are super bloomers. Glad you found the bluey pic. Your grandson's tongue matched his eyes!
Desiree Leigh Thompson
ReplyDeletewelcome to au and I'm glad you enjoyed a bloomer romp.
Happy Days
Meri,
ReplyDeletethose bottom ones are possible still found in many old ladies drawers! (pun not intended but works)
Jen, yes I has bloomin baggy blue rompers at school too, so ugly - we would tuck them up into the elastic and only the nerds wore them the way they were intended.
ReplyDeleteWillow, yes shrunk in size and in some cases modesty too...
ReplyDeleteHappy days
Lizzy
ReplyDeletethose blooms were amazing and I have been sitting on the photos waiting til an idea hit me...
Natalie,
ReplyDeleteyou will be getting to the stage were you have to wrestle back your knickers from your daughters when they raid them from the laundry basket...like the sports sox that always go missing....
This is so funny and unexpected! Thanks for the needed lift to help get through to the end of the week.
ReplyDeleteEver considered to give stand up comedian a try?..You certainly entertain all of us!
ReplyDeleteThanks delwyn!
Mona,
ReplyDeleteI think I can be funny in writing more easily than in conversation...
Thanks for being kind.
Jennifer,
ReplyDeletewell it's Friday here and I have just done my tough back to back pump and body balance classes so feel as if I can relax into the weekend...
I hope you have enough steam to finish the week...
Lovely, Lovely, fun post! What a delight! Glad I wasnt in the day of the bloomers, like french kickers though! They are like the men's boxer shorts, but are made of silk with a lace frill round the legs. The real bloomers are so beautiful- great post!
ReplyDeleteHi Delphine,
ReplyDeletethey came back in for a while I bought some in Japan...good for under tight long pants...
In Cuban Spanish: 'blumers' after the English word 'bloomers'. By the way that's a thong, not a G-string. A G-string or 'dental floss' ('hilo dental' in Spanish) doesn't have the triangular bit.
ReplyDeleteThis was such a fun post and looking at Henry with his codpiece cracked me up so much.
Many thanks.
Greetings from London.
Hi Mr Cuban,
ReplyDeleteHenry does look awfully proud of his codpiece! It was probably packed for effect!
happy Days
What a fun post! I remember the bloomers my mum used to sew for me when I was young, and what a treat it was to eventually get store bought undies :)
ReplyDeleteIt's really a great post.
ReplyDeleteLove the bloomer of these panties and hibiscus, they are so cool!
Yoon see,
ReplyDeletehello again,
It was a fun post to make - I had a smile on my face!
